Bantasy Football GameWeek 34 Preview

Some tasty teams have DGW and I wouldn't shop anywhere else this week -

Man City
Everton
Palace
Sunderland

This is no ordinary Double GameWeek - this is an M&S Double GameWeek. All these teams have games-in-hand so not only are you getting them twice now, you won't be missing out in future.

Plus Sunderland and City have ANOTHER DGW coming up. That's so good it must be calorific. I've really got to stop writing and eating at the same time. My keyboard is jammier than this donut:

It's impossible not to lick your lips

Forget buying low this week - *Nsync knew what to do all along

The Ultimate Midfield - Yaya Toure (10.5), Silva (9.6), Nasri (8.2) -- @Liverpool, Sunderland

Each of these men have their perks and the argument for having all three is faultless as far as I'm concerned. Who cares about too much exposure when the team you're exposed to scores more often than Charlie Sheen? Who cares about expense when points are all that matters? Who cares that it means you can't fit in any defenders who won't keep clean sheets or strikers who will be rotated.

The answer to all these questions and more is:

"Not I," said the Walrus.

"Panel shows are infinitely better than the best British comedy ever written," David Mitchell's agent

Mirallas (7.7) -- @Sunderland, Crystal Palace (H)

As a 90 minute-man (most girls tell me that's actually way too long), I place playing time pretty high up my list of priorities when scouting FF players. I'm happy to break my general rule for a player like Mirallas, though. He doesn't play every game, granted - but he's greedy as buggery, fast as lightning and, assuming he plays, faces two of the league's most sluggish defences in the next four games (Sunderland, Palace, United, Southampton). Worth the risk in my not so humble opinion - although if you're only bringing in one Everton man, it has to be Baines (7.5).

Andrew Johnson (6.5) -- Everton (H), @Man City

I went on about Sunderland last week but in fairness there are only two Black Cats I'd have in my side - one is Ki, whom I just swapped out for Barkley - and the other is A.Jo. Players always score against their former clubs so wouldn't it just be predictable as butter if he went to the Etihad and booted in a long-range screamer? He could have a tougher time against Everton, especially now Sunderland look destined for the drop and Monday's 5-1 thrashing by Spurs (who themselves were playing for shits and giggles) will have drop-kicked any remaining morale in the sternum. Still - Poyet is realising he's their best player and Double GameWeeks is Double GameWeeks.

Buy... if you have to

Sergio Aguero (12.0) -- @Liverpool, Sunderland (H)

This is a toughie. What if you can't try before you buy? Kun is back in full training after an age on the sidelines and even if he's only 80%, Pellegrini will surely play him at Anfield. Liverpool are an attacking side and Sunday's crunch clash could be an absolute goal fest.

Problem is - Aguero hasn't played 90 minutes since early December so it's hard to see him starting every remaining game. He could easily be rested against Sunderland and then you'd effectively just be putting him in for a single GW.

More importantly - whom you gon' replace? After Lukaku bukakked all over Arsenal he's surely one of the most desirable fantasy players in the league - and he too has a DGW.

Sell Sturridge? The man's a goal machine and gets goals and assists just by regularly breathing the same oxygen as Suarez.

Well if you have Dzeko (now a candidate for the bench again), it's seemingly a no-brainer to make the like-for-like (ish) swap - unless you want to ditch two players, take the 4pt hit and get in two (or maybe even three) City mids. But if you like your frontline already, it may be best to rest your tinkerfinger and concentrate on building the ultimate midfield instead.

Bargain Basement

Crystal Palace -- Aston Villa (H), @Everton

Crystal Palace have some bumper bargains on offer if you're in the market for a poundland signing. Check out my post on FPLHints to find out more.

John Stones (4.1) -- @ Sunderland, Palace (H)

1.1% ownership?! Are you friggin kidding me? Six straight starts. 4.1 million. 3 clean sheets and a bonus point - for a defender - in a game the Toffees won 3-0. Unreal value. I understand if your priorities lie elsewhere now it's late in the season but cheap defenders like this win championships. Work him in somehow.

Sell High

Dzeko (7.2) -- @Liverpool, Sunderland

Can you bare to part with a striker who's bagged you 38 pts in three weeks? If you want to be a winner, you might have to. He's had a good run. Now bin him. We all knew this day was coming and the best managers are the ones who can adapt. Pellegrini knows this as well as anyone and won't be leaving his best forward on the bench if he can at all help it - although if Aguero's not too knackered, a 4-2-2-2 wouldn't be out of the question for the Sunderland game. But Aguero somehow has 17 more points than Dzeko despite playing a fraction of the number of games. If he'd never been injured, City would have the title wrapped up by now and if he really is fit again, they are capable of outscoring Liverpool and running away with it. Bank on City to put their faith in a man who has single-handedly written pages into their history books before. Don't bank on Dzeko to be a protagonist in that story - but don't desperately devastate your team and pay a massive point penalty to transfer him out. He could still score twice off the bench.

Don't get desperate - get smart
