Gameweek 17: Et tu Tadic?

The list of casualties that any right-minded member of society would think to put in their Fantasy team is mounting, with Bantasy favourites Tadic, Pelle and Bojan coming a cropper just in time to dissappoint Santa. My consequent sadness, not to mention my inability to move for wrapping paper and crumpled up sellotape, means an abridged Bantasy preview this week. My sincerest apologies to those of you who so graciously tune in every week. Next week - I promise - will be a belter.

Buy Low

Jose Pozo (5.0) -- Man City | CRY (H)

A starting City striker for less money than a Gabby Agbonlahor (5.2) is certainly worthy of consideration. With Aguero, Jovetic and Dzeko all crocked (who could have predicted that?), Pellegrini is faced with the unenviable task of choosing between some unknown bozo Pozo and playing either Nasri, Silva or Milner as a deep-lying forward. He may have to do both in the end but either way it's hard to see Palace, who have just one win in ten and only one win on the road all season, putting up much of a fight. Now's kinda the perfect time to make a move like this, too, with the January mulligan card just three GameWeeks away. Get some Pozo in your life and get rid of that post-Christmas office party feeling.

Sell High

Saido Berahino (5.8) -- West Brom | Doesn't matter

Dude's still owned by 15.6% of teams. 15.6%!! Wake up, lads and ladesses - he's played a combined total of 40 minutes in the last two games. Yeesh.

Fool's Gold

Ross Barkley (6.8) -- Everton | SOU (A)

I'm sticking my turkey neck out a little bit on this one as he's a wicked player this lad. He's not been triffic from a Fantasy perspective this year, though. Last weekend's was his first goal and, while it resulted from one of his trademark mazy dribbles that only he and non-English midfielders can muster, it did take a whopping deflection before nestling in in the top corner so we can chalk it ever so slightly up to luck.

Puntsville, USA

Harry Kane (5.1) -- Tottenham | BUR (H)

Harry Kane doesn't care about his four goals in five games. Oh no, he's far too cool to be bothered by that. A little birdie reliably informs me, however, of his utter elation at being promoted from "Fool's Gold" to "Puntsville, USA" on the Bantasy Football Fantasy Blog. "It's a true honour," he's quoted as saying, before going off to palm another dollop of Brillcream [sic] and slick his hair back just one more time. Adebayor's situation is still cloudy with a chance of meatballs and Soldado is, well, Soldado - so Spurs are looking to their home-grown home slice for the forseeable future (i.e. until they can trade up in January - did someone mention Wilfried Bony? I sure hope so). Kane is therefore a great value option to pick up on the basis that he'll play the next few games and the hope that he'll do well enough to lock down a starting berth.

Pic of the Week

Slight spoiler alert for this one if you're a Game of Thrones fan. If not, then what are you for?
