Gameeweek 26: Plan Ahead; make gains

It pays to plan ahead. Sometimes more so than others. In Fantasy Football, it's rarely a bad idea but it's all too easy to back yourself into a corner if you're not careful - one that invariably results in the profligate spending of some high number of penalty points that's divisible by four. Here at Bantasy Football we like to avoid such situations so this week the focus is on flagging up the upcoming Double Gameweek 28, which is preceded by a GW 27 in which the four teams doubling up in GW 28 miss out - Chelsea, Tottenham, QPR and Leicester. We think you should avoid bringing these players in now (or the Leicester ones ever) - and certainly shouldn't carry more than three of them - before building your squad around them for that all-important double GW bonanza. Hoo-Rah!

Buy Low

Sadio Mane (6.6) -- Southampton | LIV (H)

The fiery Senegalese pace merchant has been one of the Saints' most potent threats recently and at just 1.7% ownership, he could be a great differential going forward if they can start netting goals again. Liverpool looked iffy at the back for the first time in a while against Spurs but Southampton have only scored one in three matches. He may be risky but those who go for it and pull it off... they're gonna be heroes.

Sell High

Christian Eriksen (8.5) -- Tottenham | WHU (H)

Another risky suggestion here but I'll stick my neck out and hope I don't get Bravehearted. While the free-kick dynamo from Denmark could well pick up a decent point haul this Sunday against Martin Kemp's Wham, Spurs miss out in GW 27 so you'll just have this dead flubber sat on your bench worth the best part of 9 million squids. Surely better to bring in Sterling, Ozil or Cazorla than to have to throw all your babies out the pram next week?

Fool's Gold

Theo Walcott (8.9) -- Arsenal | EVE (H)

Many Fantasy Managers will rush out to pick up Arsenal's lively winger but Wenger's propensity to bleed his prize assets back into the frame slowly makes us tentative about the English forward's Fantasy prospects. Palace have a lot of injuries but have only lost one of their last seven, picking up an impressive 12 points in that period. Arsenal will win but it might not be all that comfortable. At any rate, Cazorla (8.6) and Ozil (9.1) in the same price bracket are much safer options if you think it will.

Hold Fire

Diego Costa (10.9) -- Chelsea | BUR (H)

Costa del Gol/Sole is back in contention but he'll miss Gameweek 27 along with the rest of Chelski, who are taking the weekend off the lazy buggers. So shelve your excitement for now and bring him in for the double GW28 boomer if you know what's good for ya.

Pic of the Week

Stay classy, San Diego.
